Northern Home Services LLC gets the job done right!

About Us

Northern Home Services LLC is a small family run business located in Northern New York.

Shane Brady is the sole owner/operator of Northern Home Services.  Shane was formerly employed with Comlinks and performed Energy Audits for 7 years at Comlinks.  Unfortunately, Comlinks closed its doors in 2012.

After losing his job, Shane decided it was time to take his future into his own hands.  After many sleepless nights, he and his wife, Ann, decided it was time for him to work for himself.  Hence, Northern Home Services LLC was formed.

Shane has always been an community-oriented individual.  He served as the Director of the local Youth Program for 20 years.  Under his direction the Program flourished.

Shane and Ann have been married for 22 years and have two boys, Cody and Cory.  Cody is a Fire Fighter with the United States Air Force and Cory is getting ready to enter the 9th Grade.  Ann is an employee at a local law firm and has held her position for 20 years, in addition she is the current Town Clerk for the Town of Westville.

If you are looking for a company you can trust, Northern Home Services LLC is the company you are looking for!

 The Energy Audit

Why you need an energy audit

The home audit is a complete examination of your home, inside and out – with a thorough review of each room’s energy efficiency.

Our professionally trained local energy specialist is certified and trained to conduct a Comprehensive Home Energy Audit on your home.

The first step of this audit is a thorough inspection of your home’s structure and systems. Our professional home energy auditor is certified by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) to do a complete inspection of your home with state of the art tools used to measure for drafts, insulation and many other factors that influence your energy needs and comfort.

The Audit Includes:

  • Combustion safety testing  to determine your air quality and safety
  • Check crawlspace and basement air sealing and insulation
  • Check attic air sealing and insulation
  • Check wall air sealing and insulation
  • Check baseboards air sealing and insulation
  • Check window frame insulation
  • Check for plumbing gaps and any other possible gaps and openings that let cold air in

Insulation

Efficiency – Comfort – Money Savings

Why Insulate?

Home insulation allows you to keep the energy you pay for.

Benefits of Proper Insulation:

  • Lowers your heating and cooling bills 30-40%
  • Improves the comfort of your home
  • Floors are warmer
  • Increases the value of your home
  • Reduces the carbon footprint

According to the US Department of Energy, improving your home’s insulation and sealing air leaks are the fastest and most cost-effective ways to reduce energy waste and make the most of your energy dollars. They recommend sealing air leaks before you insulate, because insulating materials won’t block leaks.
